There are survivors of trafficking and abuse in India and Nepal that are waiting for sponsors so that they can begin or continue their educations. We want to connect you directly with one of our students so that you can make a tangible difference in their life by helping their dreams come true through education- from learning basic math and language skills to specific job and skill training. Mahima homes:
Mahima Homes is located in Kolkata, India. Within Mahima Homes are three specified homes, known as Mahima Umeed (minors), Mahima Umang (Majors), and Mahima Permanand (boys), that provide aftercare services to survivors of child abuse and sex-trafficking and their children. Founded in August 2012 by Smita Singh, Mahima Home was a response to the urgent need to provide quality aftercare for victims of sex trafficking
On-the-ground partner in nepal
Our partner in Nepal’s goal is to provide hope, compassion, dignity, and joy to their children. They serve victims of human trafficking, girls and boys at risk of trafficking, survivors of abuse, orphans, and homeless youth.
Jeevan Aadhar:
Through family-style (5-6 girls) group homes, Jeevan Aadhar provides transitional care to survivors 18+ who are not yet ready for societal reintegration. Jeevan Aadhar empowers survivors to heal physically and emotionally in a secure environment. Jeevan Aadhar believes that the bridge from rescue to reintegration has five critical components: Housing, therapy and medical care, education, job readiness, and community connections. Jeevan Aadhar has 30 full-time staff members that have successfully reintegrated 43 girls back into the community.
Hasta Memorial School:
The Hasta Memorial School is located in the Nuwakot district of Nepal; a village known as the the area worse affected by human trafficking in the country, The schools’s founder, Anjali Tamang, created a school that would allow for vulnerable children in Nuwakot to receive an education and be protected from the dangers of traffickers. Hasta Memoral School, and the non-profit arm, Hope and Freedom, provide preventative services for children through education as well as restorative services to survivors of human trafficking. Scholarships to Hasta Memorial School are helping to combat human trafficking to India at the source. Hasta Memorial schools currently has 75 students and will continue to expand to include a hostel and community outreach programs.
